While all the hype is around IP PBX systems and new technologies, many business have existing legacy systems but want to take advantage of the cost savings of SIP trunks. The challenge is how to connect these existing systems to SIP trunks without having to do a forklift replacement of the entire phone system.

The solution is simply to take existing products, such as Patton gateways and use them as the bridge between the legacy system and the SIP trunk provider. Normally, we use these gateways to connect an IP PBX to analog phone lines or PRI circuits, but when used in reverse, they can connect a SIP trunk provider to a legacy system that only has FXO or PRI connectivity.

In this video we cover the different hardware pieces needed to connect those older systems to a SIP trunk provider and announce a new VoIP Access Bundle that includes a SIP trunk from nexVortex to help get you started.
