Make May (AND JUNE!) your best sales month ever with a product that practically sells itself—and a generous incentive program

Due to the overwhelming success of our May Promo, we have extended the AVer Quick Start / Test Drive promo with AmEx Gift Card rewards until June 30th! Here is a re-post of the promo with updated timeframes and new Webinar Registration link at bottom:

What would you say to a product that offers your customers a 111% ROI and cuts their travel costs by 16%? What if that same product was so easy to sell that 85% of all demos result in sales? And, what if we gave you a $50 AmEx gift card for every lead* you brought us in before June 30 —and another $200 card for every deal you close**, above and beyond what you make on the sale itself?

We guess you’d say, “Tell me more about this product and how it can help me grow my business!”

The product is HD Video Conferencing from AVer, a global market leader in the visual communications industry. Whatever preconceived notions you have about video conferencing, set them aside—we’ve seen AVer’s product in action, and we can tell you that it’s unlike anything else on the market today. It takes only minutes to install and offers the best price per feature in the market—in other words, it’s simply the most cost effective, high quality, and easy to use video conferencing solution out there, designed especially for your small to medium-sized business customers. In fact, the video and sound quality are so good that we think of it as “video telepresence”—it’s exactly like having whoever you’re meeting with present in the room.

AVer’s video conferencing solution gives your existing customers exactly what they want—a way to cut costs, increase efficiency, and improve the bottom line. In fact, the Aberdeen Group reports that an investment in video conferencing offers a 111% ROI and cuts travel costs by 16%! And, with our Quick Start and Test Drive Programs designed exclusively for 888VoIP resellers, AVer’s video conferencing solution gives you exactly what you want—an easy, hassle-free way to grow your business now.

Here’s how the Quick Start and Test Drive Programs work:

Quick Start: Bring us a lead* from now until June 30, 2012 that is willing to “Test Drive” the AVer video conferencing system in a demo (more on that in the next bullet), and we’ll give you a $50 AmEx gift card whether you close that deal or not. Plus, for every deal you do close, we’ll give you another $200 AmEx gift card—and that’s above and beyond the 20 points you’ll make on a typical sale. When you consider that 85% of all demos close, you’ll see that May (and June) could be your best sales month ever!

Test Drive: When you bring us a lead, we’ll send a video conferencing unit to your customer so that they can “Test Drive” the system and see the benefits for themselves. What’s more, we’ll have one of our experts to help you demo the system (so there’s no need for you to spend time on tests or certifications) and close the deal.

Of course, like with most business opportunities, you need to take action now.

Don’t let May and June come and go while this opportunity passes you by!

Title: AVer Video Conferencing
Date: Wednesday, May 30, 2012
Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM EDT

To register for the webinar click here.

*A “lead” is someone who participates in the complete “Test Drive” program: someone who receives an AVer demo unit and attends a video conferencing presentation conducted by reps of 888VoIP and/or AVer.
** a $200 AMEX Gift Card will be given for each HVC310, and a $100 AMEX Gift Card will be given for each HVC110.

Installing 3CX Phone System 11 Beta

Since this is a major release, in order to update from 3CX Phone System 10 to 11 a full reinstall is required. The following steps are required:

Take a complete backup of your 3CX Phone System 10 installation using the 3CX Backup and Restore tool (Start > All Programs > 3CX Phone System > Backup and restore Tool). Note – this might take some time depending on the amount of voicemails, recordings and call history records.

NOTE: If you have a lot of voicemails and recordings, it is recommended to take a backup of these manually and exclude backing them up from the backup and restore. This will save a lot of time during the upgrade.

Uninstall 3CX Phone System 10.

Download and install 3CX Phone System 11.

Restore your backup when prompted via the 3CX Wizard.

Connect on the road and from home

What attendees will learn:

How SmartNode VoIP Gateways interconnect legacy telephony with advanced VoIP systems and services

Pros and Cons of several TDM to IP migration strategies

What would you say to a product that offers your customers a 111% ROI and cuts their travel costs by 16%? What if that same product was so easy to sell that 85% of all demos result in sales? And, what if we gave you a $50 AmEx gift card for every lead* you brought us in May—and another $200 card for every deal you close**, above and beyond what you make on the sale itself?

Quick Start: Bring us a lead* in May that is willing to “Test Drive” the AVer video conferencing system in a demo (more on that in the next bullet), and we’ll give you a $50 AmEx gift card whether you close that deal or not. Plus, for every deal you do close, we’ll give you another $200 AmEx gift card—and that’s above and beyond the 20 points you’ll make on a typical sale. When you consider that 85% of all demos close, you’ll see that May could be your best sales month ever!

Don’t let May come and go while this opportunity passes you by!

Call 888VoIP Today and speak with a rep! 888-864-7786

As a leading provider of VoIP Phones and IP communication solutions, Yealink recently announced that the Yealink Video Phone VP530 will soon be shipped to 888VoIP. 888VoIP will have stock of the new VP 530 within the next few weeks.

VP530 is unified with audio, video and many business applications. With its excellent user experience and rich business features, the VP530 creates an immersive, face-to-face experience over the internet, empowering users to collaborate with each other effectively. Featuring a 7” color high resolution touch screen, the VP530 offers a graphical business grade user interfaces, touchable Dsskeys/softkeys and virtual keypad. Integrating wideband software and hardware, the VP530 delivers life-like communication with HD voice, full-duplex speaker and handset with considerably fast response time of the icons and interfaces switching. With the increased response time many of our resellers complaints regarding the VP2009 performance have been addressed.

Initiate in the industry, VP530 offers 3-way video conferencing, through which users can demonstrate and deliver their message in a high quality, easy to use conference system. Distance is no longer a barrier, save money and time on your travel expenses by implementing Yealink VP 530s on your network. Through Yealink 3-way conferencing, enterprises can hold a video meeting among branches and staff can communicate with peers, vendors, and customers on the other side of the world just at the touch of a button，and all the three parties can see everyone on the screen. Most existing Video phones on the market do not posses this 3 way conferencing ability.

Inherited with the strict standard of “the choicest product project”, VP530 is of high quality yet easy to deploy and manage, its enterprise-grade, web-based, intuitive configuration method gives administrators the ability to easily provision and maintain a large number of phones throughout the entire enterprise, which upholds Yealink’s core idea—Easy VoIP. The video conferencing can be initiated and operated by only 3-touch of the phone.

The benefits of VP530 are overwhelming when compared to expensive video conferencing solutions. It may not only cut the expense of travelling but increase collaboration outcome by creating an immersive scene that ensures time-efficiency HD video conferencing, increasing workplace flexibility and productivity. Moreover, it is environmental friendly and helps save massive amounts of energy. According to available statistics, if a customer frequently travels to attend conferences, say 20,000 miles a year in average, the exhaust emissions would be over 4,000 KGs!

Written by Matthew Hanson

With the recent releases of new Single and Dual T1/E1 Vega gateways, as well as the Sangoma Cash Bonanza promotion, Sangoma Vega Gateways have been a hot topic with many 3CX Resellers.

While the Vega gateways have yet to be certified with 3CX, and are therefore “Officially” unsupported by 3CX support, Sangoma Support along with 888Voip support have been working with installers on getting these units working with 3CX.

The biggest concern for a 3CX Reseller is the provisioning process. As the unit is not certified, 3CX does not provide Auto Provisioning Templates for these units. Luckily, Sangoma support has generated these templates and made them available via their public Wiki. You can download these templates here:

Sangoma Vega 50 4 Port and 8 Port FXO Gateway Templates
Note: Currently ONLY the 4 Port FXO and 8 Port FXO models of the Vega 50 have had their templates created.

Using these templates, you can follow the steps below to adding and provision these units to your 3CX system.

To configure the 3CX Phone System for interaction with your Sangoma Vega 50 Gateway:

Download the Sangoma Vega 50 template files here.

Extract the ZIP file and copy the Sangoma Vega 50 template files into the gateway template folder

For Windows XP/2003:

“C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/3CX/Data/Http/Templates/gateway”

For Windows Vista/7/2008:

“C:/ProgramData/3CX/Data/Http/Templates/gateway”

Go to “Add PSTN Gateway”

In the “Add Gateway Wizard” screen:

Set the “Name” field to a name for the device, such as “Vega 50 4-port FXO″

Set the “Brand” field to “Sangoma”

Set the “Model” field to match the model number of the Sangoma Vega device you are configuring, such as “Sangoma Vega 50 4-Port FXO”

Click the “Next” button

In the “Specify VoIP Gateway” screen:

Set the “Gateway Hostname or IP” field to the IP Address to which you configured the Sangoma Vega Gateway in the previous section.

Set the “Gateway Port” field to 5060. There is normally no need to change this value.

Click the “Next” button

In the “Create ports” page, you will be presented with a grid, with each line representing one of the FXO ports.

For each line, you can configure to which extension incoming calls should be routed based on whether they are inside or outside office hours.

Click the “Next” button

In the “Gateway Created” screen:

Click the “Generate config file” button

Click the “OK” button

The 3CX Management Console will now open a dialog for you to save the Configuration File for your device. Select a location and save it.

All that remains to be done is to import the configuration file into your Sangoma Vega Gateway.

Importing the Vega Config file in the Vega Gateway

Open your web browser and go to the Vega Web Management page.

Under the Expert Config Menu, select the System option.

Click on the choose file button under the configuration section in the “send file to gateway” row to upload your configuration file generated by 3CX, such as “Sangoma_Vega50_4FXO_cfg.txt”

Click on the upload button to import the config file and you will see a result page for the upload.

Save the configuration changes and reboot the system to have them take effect.

I have demoed these systems in my Tech Lab for about a week now. Using these templates I was able to set up both units without any issues. The quality on these units are very good, and I have yet to see any glitches or issues arise.

Once again, these units are NOT certified with 3CX, but do provision easily and work very well. This simply gives 3CX resellers another tool in their belt to take advantage of Sangoma’s quality.

For those not using 3CX, see Sangoma’s Wiki for guides to use these Gateways with Asterisk/trixbox, as well as using FXS models for use with any system. If you are looking for a FXS interface for t.38 Faxing, the Vega Gateways are an ideal solution.

Last week, we looked into RPort, and why it is important to assist in Nat Traversal. Because Hosted and Cloud-based IP PBXs have become a very common solution, as well as the rise in remote extensions and workers, NAT issues have become a major roadblock to system installations and stability. While there can be a major cost savings by eliminating premise based hardware, it has been hard for many to match the quality and reliability of a local system. We have touched on RPort’s ability to mitigate most NAT Traversal issues, and another part of this equation is STUN, the IP Detective.

A quick background on STUN (i.e. What is Stun, Matt?):

According to the official abstract at ietf.org: Simple Traversal of User Datagram Protocol (UDP) Through Network Address Translators (NATs) (STUN) is a lightweight protocol that allows applications to discover the presence and types of NATs and firewalls between them and the public Internet. It also provides the ability for applications to determine the public Internet Protocol (IP) addresses allocated to them by the NAT. STUN works with many existing NATs, and does not require any special behavior from them. As a result, it allows a wide variety of applications to work through existing NAT infrastructure.

Matt’s Translation – STUN enables a device to find out its public IP address and the type of NAT service its sitting behind. I like to think of it as a self identification tool. It is very much like an inverse of RPort. STUN sends a message out to a STUN Server, which replies with the Public IP of the origination, allowing SIP devices using STUN to identify their own Public IP prior to the sending of SIP traffic. This is different from RPort, which allows the remote end of SIP traffic to tag messages with the Origination IP which is then returned to the source during SIP traffic. They are two different Protocols, but both do a very similar task – Traversing NATs.

While I utilize the STUN settings in all remote phones, along with RPort, this is very common for IP-PBXs and Gateways that are being used with SIP trunks and VoIP service.

STUN operates on TCP and UDP port 3478. As noted, a STUN server is needed in this case, as STUN is resolved independently of the Phone System, and works much like NTP. There are many free public stun servers available, and a list can be found here. Many modern IP PBXs support STUN, as well as the following IP phones manufacturers:

Cisco(Linksys)

Yealink

Grandstream

Aastra

snom

Stay tuned for my next article, where I will unlock the secrets of the MOST important tool for any VoIP Tech, Wireshark.
