snom is Growing!

snom has appointed Olivier Gerling as Managing Director from the new founded French location in Paris. As the company continues to scale in Europe, Gerling is tasked with snom’s growing network of telecom reseller and distributor partners throughout France. “Olivier has a proven track record in sales and market development for the enterprise and SMB telecom sectors,” said Dr. Michael Knieling, snom’s Executive Vice President Marketing & Sales. “He brings the expertise, energy and industry contacts combined with a special French spirit we need to accelerate snom’s sales activities in France!”

The IT engineer Olivier Gerling has more than 20 years of experience in IP telephony. After 13 years spent with Matra Communication and Nortel Networks in France and Canada as Product Line Manager and Senior strategic manager for PBX/IP-PBX, he joined in 2002 the Thomson IP devices business unit in charge of the business development & sales for the professional segment: he set up the indirect sales for Speedtouch DSL modems and IP phones in Europe. When Thomson acquired the softswitch company Cirpack in 2005, Gerling became the Channel & Business Development Director in charge of strengthening and developing the worldwide network of system integrators for NGN/VoIP solutions. Mr. Gerling is married and has two children.
